Kincheloe South at the Jessica Beath Clinic is a high quality high volume spay neuter clinic located in Ashland, Virginia. We Are looking for an LVT to join our team Tuesday-Thursday.

Applicants should be motivated, dependable, able to multi-task and able to lift at least 40 pounds. Duties will include surgical prep/assist, anesthesia, running diagnostics, prepping items for the lab, occasionally X-rays, computerized record keeping in Clinic HQ software, pharmacy, assisting with check in, wellness vaccine appointments, etc. Experience in high quality high volume spay neuter is a plus.

Schedule:

Requirements:
Our ideal candidate is a licensed veterinary technician with at least 1-2 years of experience in a small animal veterinary clinic. New licensed or license-eligible technicians welcome!

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the veterinarian in exam rooms and use Avimark, our veterinary software, for documenting medical notes
  • Communicate with and educate clients
  • Provide compassionate patient care
  • Our licensed vet techs have a very fulfilling position and are greatly valued. You will be allowed to utilize all of your learned and practiced skills. LVT's take the lead on all anesthetic procedures, dental cleanings, emergency triage and patient care. They also are working closely with the Veterinarians and Assistants to care for our hospitalized and emergency patients.

  • Triaging patients and managing the caseload of incoming patients; provide active guidance and leadership to the support team.
  • Carrying out treatment plans by obtaining diagnostics, administering medications, performing venipuncture, IVC placement, wound and trauma care, applying bandages/splints, fluid therapy, oxygen therapy, emergency aid, critical care, and CPR.  
  • Strong knowledge of sedation and anesthesia drug protocols; operation of anesthesia machines, anesthetic induction, intubation, and vitals monitoring.
  • Communicating with clients by explaining medical procedures, reviewing financial estimates and discharge instructions, responding to client inquiries.
