Seeking an additional LVT or LVT student for our spay and neuter clinic in Evington VA. Full-time or part time schedule available. LVT students must be currently enrolled and have passed their Pharmocology course. Are you a licensed veterinary technician looking for a unique challenge? If so, we are seeking a dedicated person for the position of Full-Time LVT on our mobile spay/neuter clinic. This position is best suited for an individual who is self-motivated, eager to tackle new challenges and believes in the importance of spay/neuter as a way to end pet homelessness. The Roanoke Valley SPCA is an adoption and education facility working to create a community where there are no homeless cats or dogs. Applicants for this position must be enthusiastic, reliable, and detail-oriented. Excellent communication skills are a must. The LVT will assist the associate veterinarian in high volume high quality spay and neuter surgical procedures primarily on the mobile clinic and support the veterinarian in the completion of 20-30 surgeries daily. The LVT will also assist the veterinarian in procedures meant to diagnose and treat sick animals within the RVSPCA, when working in the clinic. The LVT will work in collaboration with co-workers to keep veterinarian(s) informed of any health concerns with animals or foster program as well as to help maintain treatment protocols for injured or ill animals as directed by the veterinarian(s). Must have reliable transportation and be willing to assist with driving the mobile clinic. Typically work days are Tuesday through Friday, but varies based on organizational needs – some evenings and weekends are required. $14-16 per hour, based on experience. LVT license is required.
